How did you hear about/find us?

We made the decision to begin homeschooling our daughter, Caitlin, (the CCB's youngest trumpet player), in September of 2018. When we pulled her out of public school, we feared she'd have to give up band, as there are no homeschool band programs currently operating.  My husband, Nick, dug through the internet and found CCB's website. He contacted Stacey, and we started coming to practices. We started helping with setup & cleanup, and were soon designated as band-aids. We love it!

Do you have a musical background/history?

Actually, I do.  I played trumpet for 3 years in middle school.  I can barely remember how to produce sound through a trumpet now though, so playing again would be nearly impossible, lol.

Which song do you enjoy hearing the band perform most?

I think right now it would be "Rock You Like a Hurricane" since Caitlin had a little solo in it.

What do you do when you're not helping the band?

Well, first, I'm a mom, which is the greatest blessing in my life.  But, for work, I'm an Office Manager for a construction company. We specialize in building gas stations.  I handle all payroll, HR, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Health Benefits, Expenses, etc. I've been there almost 10 years.

What type of animal/breed of dog/cat/bird/fish/other etc…. best reflects your personality and why?

Probably a sloth, because I'm pretty laid back and easygoing. I try to take life one day at a time. I'm also relaxed, can be lazy at times and I LOVE sleeping.

What is your superpower?

I'd like to think it's my ability to multi-task.  My work load at the office is very large, and I don't stop when I come home.  Since I work during the day and the hubby works at night, once I'm home it's doing all the normal "mom" stuff... grocery shopping, dinner, baths, paying bills, straightening up, but trying to always make time to relax a bit and catch up with my girls and husband.  Always busy, ALWAYS.

Describe your role as a Band-Aid in CCB.  My husband, Nick, youngest daughter, Madison, and I, help with setup, cleanup and merchandise.   We try to be some of the first to arrive at performances to help everyone with unloading their equipment, getting setup, etc., and we stay after performances to help take down everything, help everyone load up, clean up, etc.  We also work the merchandise/souvenir table when needed. We are willing to do anything to help make your lives easier at CCB!

What is your favorite thing about being a band-aid in CCB?  The Band!  You guys sound so good, and it's awesome to be able to hear y'all play while watching the crowd get soooo into it and have fun!  The performances are always so fun and I love seeing how much fun y'all have with it too!

Tell us something fun! You know, like "That one time at band camp..." Or elsewhere. (funny anecdote/story/amazing coincidence/hidden talent/celebrity encounter, etc...)?

I can flip my eyelids inside out! It freaks my kids out! LOL!!  I've been told by multiple people that I should consider being a writer. I am detail oriented and can make others interested in the story and feel the emotions as I'm expressing them.  So, maybe one day I'll look into that. But the sloth in me keeps saying to take a nap instead. 🤣
