Member since?

August 2018, I'm currently the youngest member at only 15 years old! I'm the baby of the group! :)

How did you hear about/find us?

I joined a home school program and was looking for a band to join so I could continue playing, without the stress of marching.  So, my parents and I started internet searching, and found you guys and I'm so glad we did! I have loved every minute in the CCB.  Everyone has been so nice and welcoming!

What is your musical background/history?

I joined my middle school band in 6th grade.  I started off by playing French Horn, but switched to trumpet about half way through that year when the band became low on trumpet players. I continued playing trumpet in band through 9th grade, and also joined my high school marching band in 9th grade.  Then, my 10th grade year, I started homeschooling and joined the Crestwood Community Band. During my time in middle and high school, I earned spots in the UAB & University of Montevallo Honor Bands, as well as earning a spot in the high school Symphonic Band as a freshman!   While at Disney World, the band got to perform in an actual Disney music studio. We played Tarzan and Star Wars! We even got a video to remember our time there. I was given a set of Mickey ears that can only be earned by playing in a Disney Studio.

What is your favorite “Band Song” to play?

I just enjoy songs that are upbeat and involve a lot of energy, because I'm able to be myself, and I can enjoy it more when I feel like dancing

What do you do when you are not playing music? (work/hobbies/for fun???)

When I'm not playing my instrument, I am building in a virtual game called "Minecraft", & following a video tutorial to learn how to build what I want.  Or, I am drawing pictures because I get bored, (not that I'm very good at it). We also have a membership to the Birmingham Zoo, so we go there a lot. I absolutely love animals and especially enjoy visiting the Red Pandas. I also am a member of the Small Talk Puppet Ministry at my church.  Last, but certainly not least, I like spending time with my parents and little sister. This past March, we got to spend 5 days in Disney World, which was the highlight of my life, thus far, and has made me a huge Sorcerer Mickey fan!

What type of animal/breed of dog/cat/bird/fish/other etc…. best reflects your personality and why?

The animal that represents my personality the most is an Owl because I'm wise and watchful.

What is your superpower?

My superpower is speed under water because I enjoy the water and I like to consider that I'm pretty quick below the surface.

Tell us something fun! You know, like "That one time at band camp..." Or elsewhere. (funny anecdote/story/amazing coincidence/hidden talent/celebrity encounter, etc...)?

Something about me that those closest to me know, is that I'm really good with animals.  I say I have a hidden ability that causes animals to naturally be attracted to me, or that makes them feel safe around me.  I will go near anything but spiders! And I feel like I'm really good with any animals that could be kept as a pet. I currently have 2 dogs and a cat, but I've terrified my parents into believing that as an adult, I'll be an "every animal lady", running a small sanctuary out of my home, lol.   You know, something like 25 cats, 8 dogs, 6 pigs, 10 horses, 12 chickens, and 65 rabbits!
